Tuesday morning in China, the Meizu MX5 was unveiled. Would the MX5 be an AnTuTu powerhouse like its predecessor? The answer to that question can be found by watching the video of Meizu's event. Stop the video at the 27 minute 42 second mark and you'll see that the Meizu MX5 had quite an impressive 53,330 score on AnTuTu.
The Meizu MX5 is equipped with a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. That works out to a pixel density of 401ppi. The 64-bit MediaTek Helio X10 SoC is under the hood, containing an octa-core 2.2 CPU and the PowerVR G6200 GPU. 3GB of RAM is inside with 64GB of native storage. A 20.7MP camera adorns the back of the handset and a 5MP snapper can be found in front. A 3150mAh battery keeps the lights on, and the metal-clad smartphone comes with the Flyme OS pre-installed. The latter is based on Android 5.0.
Will the Meizu MX5 follow in the footsteps of the MX4 and top the AnTuTu Benchmark site this year? It is way too early to say, but the phone is off to a great start.
