Acer Iconia Tab A700 leaks once more, this time with images
Not long ago, someone started the rumor that Acer was planning on leaving the smartphone and tablet arena. Well, those speculation were quickly put to rest by the company. And now it seems like Acer is actually doing quite the contrary as it is working on a high-end tablet to whet the appetite of gadget lovers worldwide.

The device in mind is known as the Acer Iconia Tab A700, which is a model that we have actually already heard of. And if its rumored tech specs are on the right track, it is going to be quite the beast. The most exciting thing about it is the 10.1-inch display, which allegedly boasts the jaw-dropping resolution of 1920 by 1200 pixels. Inside it ticks the quad-core Tegra 3 chip made by NVIDIA. Of course, it also offers the kind of bells and whistles that one would expect out of a modern tablet, namely a 5-megapixel main camera with LED flash and a front-facing one capable of capturing HD video. Other goodies include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, HDMI port, 3G connectivity, and a slot for microSD cards.

The only not so cool thing about the Acer Iconia Tab A700 so far seems to be its weight of 1.43 pounds (650 grams), but that is the price one has to pay for having a beefy 9,800 mAh battery inside, which should last through 10 hours of video playback. The Android version of choice remains a mystery, but Ice Cream Sandwich is not out of the question.

Of course, the above information is just something out of the realm of speculations, so don't be surprised if it turns out to be inaccurate. On the other hand, if Acer is planning on announcing the Iconia Tab A700 in the near future, CES 2012 would be the perfect moment for that.
