New Huawei Mate 9 official render leaks ahead of launch

Huawei's upcoming flagship smartphone, the Mate 9 is likely to be revealed early next month. The Chinese company confirmed a launch event for November 3, although it did not mention the Mate 9 name.

However, since the information about the Huawei Mate 9 keep coming through various sources, it makes sense to believe the smartphone's launch is very close. The latest Mate 9 leak comes via Evan Blass, who posted an official render of the smartphone that gives us a better idea of what's to come in terms of design.

We're not sure how many color versions of the Mate 9 will be available at launch, but the picture leaked recently shows a pink model.

Other than that, we can also see the phone's dual camera setup on the back, along with a fingerprint sensor positioned below the photo snapper, which by the way, it features Leica lens. A dual-LED flash is placed to the left of the camera as well.

You'll also be pleased to know that Huawei did not dropped the 3.5mm audio jack, which is now located on top of the device. We've also noticed the USB Type-C port on the right side of the phone, along with one of the speakers.

Previous rumors also claim the Mate 9 boasts a large 5.9-inch display that supports either full HD (1080p) or Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. Huawei is likely to include its own octa-core Kirin 960 chipset inside, along with 4GB of RAM and enough storage (64GB or 128GB).

A slightly bumped up model might include 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal memory, but this is just a rumor. Stay tuned for more updates on the upcoming Mate 9.
