Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime (2016) gets Wi-Fi certification, could be unveiled this month

Little is known about Samsung's slightly improved version of the Galaxy Grand Prime, but one thing is sure: the smartphone will be announced very soon.

It's been more than a month since we've heard about the Galaxy Grand Prime (2016) for the first time. The smartphone was even spotted at Geekbench a few weeks ago, which is why news about its certification shouldn't come as a surprise.

The Galaxy Grand Prime (2016) recently received its Wi-Fi certification. The smartphone is known with model number SM-G532F, so we're still unsure how exactly it will be named when Samsung decided to make it official.

Since the Wi-Fi certification of the Galaxy Grand Prime (2016) doesn't reveal anything aside from the fact that it's an Android smartphone, we'll have to rely on the previous reports that point out a few of its specs.

In fact, there's just the 1.4GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1.5GB of RAM that we know about. The rest of the phone's specifications are still a mystery.

It's also worth noting that the Galaxy Grand Prime (2016) will ship with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow right out of the box. Also, considering the phone's known specs, we doubt Samsung will want to provide an Android Nougat update for this specific device, so keep that in mind if you plan on buying it when it comes out.

One other aspect that's been revealed in the certification would be the fact that Samsung will launch two Galaxy Grand Prime (2016) models: single and dual-SIM. Their availability will vary by country and carrier.
