T-Mobile announces Froyo-powered Dell Streak 7 tablet
During 2011, T-Mobile will surely add a lot of well-spec'd smartphones to its lineup. However, this post is all about the carrier's first 4G tablet – the Dell Streak 7, scheduled for release sometime during the next few weeks!

The device, which we already saw leaked on the carrier's site, will feature a compact (for a tablet) 7-inch Gorilla Glass touchscreen and will have Nvidia'sTegra 2 chipset, which we're so excited about, because, you know, it will allow for sweet goodies like HD 1080p video playback, faster performance due to a dual-core processor and better Flash Player 10.1 handling. Unfortunately, this device will be running the good old Android 2.2 Froyo treatment, with no mention of a possible Honeycomb update so far. Similarly to the Dell Streak, it will have a version of Dell's own Stage UI on top, just to add a hint of personalization. The Streak 7 will also have a front-facing and a rear camera with LED flash, along with the mandatory 3.5mm audio port.

The Dell Streak 7 will run on T-Mo's HSPA+ network, capable of reaching theoretical peaks of 21 Mbps. The carrier also announced however that it will continue to upgrade its current 4G network, so it should reach a new peak of 42 Mbps by mid-2011! Sadly, the Streak 7 will be limited to the network's current speeds.
