The Lenovo LePhone runs Android and features 3.7-inch AMOLED screen
The LePhone got introduced by Lenovo at CES - this is an Android-based handset featuring quite spectacular hardware. The device sports 3.7-inch AMOLED display with WVGA resolution, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 3-megapixel camera, 3.5mm jack, A-GPS and Wi-Fi. It´s interesting to point out that the cell phone comes with no buttons on the front side - instead, there is a touch-sensitive, gesture control area similar to the one the Palm Pre is equipped with. Moreover, there is a special connector that will allow owners of the device to plug in an extra QWERTY keyboard. The cell phone doesn´t offer anything out of this world in terms of software though - it utilizes Android 1.6 personalized with a feature pack that heavily reminds of almost all other Linux-based handsets designed for China. This doesn´t come as a surprise really, because that´s exactly where the Lenovo LePhone is headed for – it will first roll out on the Chinese market this May. There is still no information on the pricing of the device and whether or not the manufacturer intends to sell it in other countries.
